Instructors

Jerry Wells

Jerry has over 35 years of sales and manufacturing experience and has been President and COO of four companies, three of which were turnaround situations. Jerry held several sales positions with the Metal Products Division of Armco Steel Corporation. During this time he was recognized for sales achievements each year. He was responsible for sales recruiting and training for company sales personnel and was responsible for sales training of the 500 member dealer organization.

Additionally, He is a certified instructor of Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques through the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Iowa Manufacturing Extension Partnership. Jerry works with companies, organizations and institutions in North America helping them plan and improve their sales, marketing, operations and processes along with developing their employees with the operating philosophy of continuous improvement.

He has earned an MBA degree from Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio, a BS degree from Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona and an AA degree from North Iowa Area Community College, Mason City, Iowa.

Tom Guerdet

Tom has over 33 years of sales, consulting and training experience including being the Director of Sales Training for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Iowa, presenting at the National Blue Cross Blue Shield sales training program for three years and being a national presenter for several insurance companies.

Additionally, he is a certified instructor of Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques through the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Iowa Manufacturing Extension Partnership. Tom also authored the original Lean Office training program adopted by the Community Colleges of Iowa.

Tom was an adjunct instructor in business at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa and was awarded Lecturer Status in 1998, and teacher of the year in 2001.

Tom has earned a BA and MBA degree from Mankato State University, Mankato, Minnesota.
